Derry Brownfield and Ambassador Mansfield The Farm broadcast community is a very small one.  Most of us at Brownfield have known one another for many, many years.  Although we haven't always worked together here at Brownfield, we've been in the business of farm broadcasting for many years.  We've covered numerous state, national and even international stories, often times working side by side.  Proof positive is shown in this photo taken in 1983.  Then-Secretary of Agriculture John Block's trade mission to Japan was covered by Brownfield co-founder Derry Brownfield and young Indiana farm broadcaster Dave Russell.

Ag blogs about Brazil

If you are interested in agriculture in Brazil, might I suggest you check out one of the four ag blogs on the Agriculture in Brazil website.

Having traveled in Brazil with the U.S. Grains Council in 1997 and with the Valley Irrigation 50th Anniversary World Tour early in 2005, I especially enjoy reference to the agricultural areas I have visited.

Cuba

Typically, if we are going to include a special feature on our website about a specific trip or event, we post pictures and audio as it is happening so you can follow along with us.  In some instances, we are not certain of the technical opportunities from the location, so we choose to wait until we have returned to offer it.  Such is the case from Pete Shinn's trip last week to Cuba.

Pete accompanied Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman and two dozen ag producers and agri-businessmen to Havana, Cuba. As a member of the delegation, he received an "all-access pass" to the trade mission, Heineman's third. You can listen to and read Pete's reports from the trade mission here.
